We here at Medi-Share Reviews have a lot of respect for Christian personal finance guru Dave Ramsey. His advice on home ownership, investing, budgeting, and taxes is well-informed and comes from an honest and knowledgeable Christian perspective.

Reader Luke H. has written in to point out that Mr. Ramsey has in fact discussed Christian healthcare sharing ministries, and Medi-Share specifically, on his site.

Dave Ramsey talking about Christian Insurance and Medi-Share
After praising Christian healthcare sharing ministries in general, calling most of them "very reliable," Mr. Ramsey singles out Medi-Share's "great reputation."

He then points out correctly that Christian health insurance alternatives are not insurance and don't face the same regulations as insurance companies. What this means is that you need one that has a long track record of serving their members, such as the 24 years that Medi-Share has been providing affordable healthcare sharing.

If you haven't already, please take a look at our full Medi-Share review providing our detailed member experiences. Or request your free info packet directly from Medi-Share, telling you exactly how much you'll pay each month.

Does MediShare also work as a supplemental insurance for Medicare?

Thom, sorry I missed this question when you first posted it. Medi-Share probably wouldn't be the best choice as supplemental insurance for Medicare since it is meant to be a stand-alone healthcare sharing alternative to traditional health insurance. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch and I will be happy to help.

How does prescription drug coverage work? I take a thyroid medication daily--does the plan offer any sort of coverage for medication? Does it go toward the "deductible"?

Good question Tyra. Your prescription drug bills are eligible for sharing for 6 months and do go toward the AHP (deductible), but do be aware that pre-existing conditions will usually not be covered.
